After a six year battle the derelict toilets on Turnham Green are finally to be demolished.

A woman died in a Chiswick house fire which blazed all through Friday night.

Around 30 fire fighters and six fire engines were called to a house on Esmond Road, Chiswick at 11.44pm, where they found the 42-year-old woman unconscious on the ground floor.

MURDER squad police have launched an investigation into who is responsible for the death of the baby boy killed by a falling lamp-post.

The youngster, thought to be about a year old, died at 5.30am this morning (Thursday) it was confirmed. A post mortem is due to be arranged shortly.

He was critically injured on Tuesday when a 40ft post fell on to his pram and was airlifted to Royal London Hospital.

A third cannabis factory has been busted by Hounslow police in the space of a month.

A SHOPLIFTER admitted stealing goods worth more the £400 in the space of a month from shops in Chiswick, writes Robert Cumber.

Anthony Largey, of Kensal House, Ladbroke Grove, struck five times at three different stores in Turnham Green Terrace between November 4 and December 17.

The 49-year-old stole three coats worth £117 from clothes store outlet JoJo Mammon BeBe on November 4, toiletries worth at least £280 from Oliver Bonas between November 10 and December 17, and a £25 'Cag in a Bag' from fashion outlet Cath Kidston.

He admitted five charges of theft at Feltham Magistrates Court last Friday and was given a one-year supervision order and told to attend a drug rehabilitation scheme.
