A SHOPLIFTER admitted stealing goods worth more the £400 in the space of a month from shops in Chiswick, writes Robert Cumber.

Anthony Largey, of Kensal House, Ladbroke Grove, struck five times at three different stores in Turnham Green Terrace between November 4 and December 17.

The 49-year-old stole three coats worth £117 from clothes store outlet JoJo Mammon BeBe on November 4, toiletries worth at least £280 from Oliver Bonas between November 10 and December 17, and a £25 'Cag in a Bag' from fashion outlet Cath Kidston.

He admitted five charges of theft at Feltham Magistrates Court last Friday and was given a one-year supervision order and told to attend a drug rehabilitation scheme.

More than 20 fire fighters tackled a blaze on Chiswick High Road for more than three hours on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out at the back of Zizzi's restaurant at 2.34pm with approximately half of the ground floor store room being damaged and around 30 per cent of ducting from the ground to the fourth floors.

A cyclist was attacked with pepper spray by three thugs while riding through Chiswick.
