Burst water main forces people to be evacuated from their homes

Part of Hammersmith severely flooded this morning forcing a small number of people to be evacuated from their homes after a water main burst.

Polcie were alerted to the situation on the junction of Stamford brook Road and Goldhawk Road at 4am this morning.

A police spokesman said: "It has caused severe flooding in the area and a small number of people have been evacuated from their homes.

"Roads in the area are closed and will remain so for the morning's rush hour.

"Thames Water is on scene and dealing."
