Comedian opens Chiswick aquarium

To celebrate Thames Explorer Trust's 21st birthday a water aquarium was built at their Chiswick base.

Designed to show children the life that can be found in the river Thames, the water aquarium was opened by comedian Dara O Brian on Wednesday at Chiswick Pier House.

Andy Hawkins from Thames Explorer Trust said: "The brackish (part Saline and part fresh water) aquarium was stocked with many different fish species found within the river Thames, which were caught by the fisheries department of the environment agency, on the foreshore at Strand on the Green.

"The trust works to teach people about the Thames so that everyone can take a part in planning a healthy future for the river.

"We want to give people from all parts of the community that chance to get out there exploring - along the river, on the foreshore and on boats."

We'd like to hear from you.
