A Chiswick gardener is taking part in a gruelling 12-day trek along the Inca Trail to raise money for charity.

Philip Cole, 48, needs to collect a minimum of £2,900 in sponsorship to take part in the hike to Machu Picchu in Peru, with all funds going towards charity Dogs for the Disabled.

Year six students from Grove Park Primary School, in Nightingale Close, dressed up as waiters to serve tea to pensioners from Clifton Gardens Care Home in Chiswick and residents of Mary Seacole House in Clapham.

Head teacher Marion Lee, said: "The party was a fantastic success."

Dukes Meadows Trust are holding a special Christmas farmers markets on Tuesday December 23.

With local produce in abundance and an opportunity to meet farmers and producers, the market provides a fantastic atmosphere for festive shopping.

The Cedars Youth centre will hold its Christmas Concert on Friday 19th December at 5.30, with refreshments served afterwards.

It will take place at Chiswick Methodist Church, Sutton Court Road, Chiswick, London W4 4NL

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a fashionista then Cancer Research UK could use your help.

Chiswick's two charity stores in Chiswick high Road are looking for people to volunteer as sales advisors, window dressers and people to sort the fashion dos from the fashion don'ts.
