Chiswick appeal for bone marrow donors

The Anthony Nolan Trust and a Chiswick resident have launched an appeal for bone marrow donors to come forward to save lives.

Anne O'Farrel has supported the trust for over 30 years and set about organising a recruitment clinic, after hearing the sdhocking news that 16,000 patients are deperately in need of finding that life saving bone marrow donor.

If you wish to register as a potential lifesaver and find out more about the trust visit the Clinic at Chiswick Catholic Club in Dukes Avenue on Saturday November 1 between 11-2pm.

Lynsey Dickson from the Anthony Nolan Trsuts said: "Thr Anthony Nolan Register can never be big enough if we are to fulfil our mission and provide a transplant for any patient in the world in need of bone marrow.

"For this reason, it is so important that if you are eligible, to think seriosuly about it as the more people we have registering, the more chance we have of finding life saving mataches for patients that desperately need them,"

Key groups where there are a shortage, include, donors from all ethnic minority backgrounds, male donors, and young donors.

Must be aged 18-40 years old


In good health


Weigh over eight stone but not be severley overweight


Be willing to donate stem cells to any patient they may ever match.
