Day 26: Lancaster
Read about Matt George's Long Walk Home
I am headed towards Lancaster today, hoping to get to the other side of it by night-time so I can camp somewhere more rural.
I have actually had a short break - I had a couple of gigs in London that I couldn't get out of, so I went down for five days and then resumed from Oxon Holme station in the Lake District this morning.
It was pretty much the halfway point so I was glad to have got that far and now I've got the same to go again.
The Lake District was good, I went round the edge of it really - the Scottish highlands are still the highlight though.
The weather is starting to get me down a bit - it's not so bad in the day when you are walking, but depressing when you have to put a wet tent up in the rain.
I thought if I did this in August I would have a good chance of some sunny weather - but no.
We'd like to hear from you. Send your stories, pics and videos

Hi Matt, saw you in Milnthorpe, Cumbria today. Well Done!! You restored my faith in human nature.
Dear Matt
Quite understandably this wretched weather is getting to you - you have done so well to accomplish this distance all on your own with no support at all - but never fear, the 'Old Biddies' are hoping to join up with you on Thursday to offer much deserved support for a few days; at least you'll get a bed for the night and a good hot meal each day - keep it up you are doing so well
