Read about Matt George's Long Walk Home

I'm in Taunton, about 180 miles from the finish line. My feet are sore, in fact everything is sore. All I'm thinking about is the finish in a few days time sparing injury I should make it by Thursday.

From the centre of Bristol it's 200 miles to go - will be finished by next weekend if not before.

Looking forward to finishing now!

Trouble in the pipeline

dukes-meadow.jpgChiswick should bear the burden of Thames Water's proposed 'super sewer', neighbouring town hall chiefs claimed this week.

The utilities giant hopes the £2.5billion Thames Tidal Tunnel - a 18-mile long sceptic tank - will improve water quality in the London's main waterway and engineers are now looking for a spot to site the the tunnel's 100ft entrance.

But Hammersmith & Fulham Council has claimed two sites within its boundaries have already been earmarked.

And it sparked anger by calling for locations in Chiswick to be reconsidered after local estate agents said placing the mouth of the sewer in Hammersmith could affect house prices.

The Arts Academy is staging three free music workshops on Saturday, September 13.

The UK's first specialist, in-home music tuition company, is holding the sessions at St Michael and All Angels Church in Bath Road, Chiswick.

I am headed towards Lancaster today, hoping to get to the other side of it by night-time so I can camp somewhere more rural.

I have actually had a short break - I had a couple of gigs in London that I couldn't get out of, so I went down for five days and then resumed from Oxon Holme station in the Lake District this morning.

Clearing open days at university this weekend

Thames Valley University is holding two open days this weekend to mark the start of clearing.

They take place on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August between 11am - 3pm at the Mary's Road site in Ealing, where you can find out about courses taught at the Brentford and Ealing campuses.

These are the ideal opportunity to find out about the undergraduate courses that are currently available through clearing, as well as see the campus and find out about student support, finance and accommodation.
